The Word miscarriage also known, as a spontaneous abortion is the term used for pregnancy loss. It is when your body has been unable to carry your baby until the full term of the pregnancy. In other words to give birth prematurely. The full duration of a pregnancy is 40 weeks gestation. It is estimated that one in four pregnancies either end in miscarriage or stillbirth. A miscarriage usually begins with bleeding and period like cramping, which intensifies until blood clots and tissue pass. Sometimes the baby may die and the mother’s body still progresses with the pregnancy as if there is nothing wrong. An ultrasound usually detects this tragedy. If the body fails to reject the baby then a "D and C" (dilate and curettage) will be performed. This is where the doctors have to surgically remove the tissue and the blood filled uterine lining. If any of the tissue remains there is a high risk of infection and damage to the uterus.

I don't think that anyone fully understands why a baby dies or a miscarriage occurs. Sometimes there is no explanation. Just because you may have miscarried doesn't necessarily mean that you will miscarry again. For those of you who are hesitant on conceiving again you may find it encouraging to know that many women who have experienced miscarriage go on to have a successful pregnancy next time around.

There are constructive steps that you can take to feel positive about falling pregnant either for the first time or after a previous miscarriage. If you have experienced miscarriage it is important that you don't try to analyse what’s happened or get into condemnation but begin to build up your faith in preparation for your next pregnancy. This is the most positive step that you can take. You will need to do this so that you will not be anxious or fearful of miscarriage during your next pregnancy.

If you have experienced miscarriage you might want to get some medical advice so that if there is a sickness or complication you know exactly what to pray for. However there is not always a conclusive reason for miscarriage. Generally, tests are not performed until a woman has suffered three consecutive miscarriages. Some women have trouble in certain areas and praying for specifics is necessary. Ask the Holy Spirit to highlight what needs to be covered in your pregnancy. He will teach you how to pray effectively.

It is also beneficial to pray for the development of your baby. Praying for the growth of your baby and the protection of miscarriage goes hand in hand because your baby needs to implant and develop properly for the pregnancy to progress. Praying for your baby to implant in the perfect place in your uterine wall is also worthwhile. If your baby implants in the fallopian tube this can be a serious condition if left undetected. The baby can’t survive, the tube can explode and the mother may bleed to death. Another serious condition is when a baby implants too low near the cervix. Not only will a vaginal delivery may be impossible but also the placenta may fail to grow up the uterine wall and cover the cervix instead. The placenta needs to be implanted in the uterine wall so it can continue to nourish the baby and keep it alive.

Is it God's will for us to Miscarry?

Exo 23:25-26 Worship the LORD your God, and His blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.

Just because we are Christians doesn't mean we are automatically protected from miscarriage. We live in a fallen world so miscarriage, sickness, disease or any other complications can happen to any one of us. However, the good news is that we can receive a different outcome. Isaiah 53:4-5 tells us that Jesus has paid the price for ALL sickness and disease therefore He has paid the price for miscarriage.

We need to apply God's Word to our life by faith because it will not manifest on its own. First we need to receive a personal revelation so we have that deep knowing in our spirit that it is not God's will for us to miscarry. Faith must be on the Word of God not on feelings or man's words. Faith is important, because it builds us up in our spirit and helps us to focus on God rather than our circumstances. We all have a measure of faith (Rom 12:3).and when we use it, it becomes stronger. God tells us to pay attention and listen closely to His Word and not let it out of our sight. We need to guard and keep it in our heart because when we do something supernatural happens. The Word becomes life when we receive revelation and brings healing to our flesh (Prov 4:20-22). God's Word is medicine to our soul. It is the cure or remedy we need for it has the power to bring healing to the whole person; spirit, soul and body.

Once we receive personal revelation we need to continue to claim God's Word over our lives. God watches to see that His Word is fulfilled (Jer 1:12) for it will not return to Him empty, but will accomplish what He desires and it will achieve the purpose for which He sent it (Isaiah 55:11).God's Word returns to Him when we speak it out of our mouths by claiming it over our lives. His Word is not merely empty words rather promises that contain the capacity to change our circumstances.

Even though many know what God's Word says about miscarriage they still feel that in certain situations it is His will for some to miscarry. James 1:17 says, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows". Only good gifts come from God and miscarriage for any reason is not a good gift. God doesn't bless us with children only to take them away from us. Whenever the Bible mentions children it says that they are a gift and a reward from God (Psa 127:3). Not once does it mention that we are to dread or be fearful of them in any way. God doesn’t want us to be in fear during the pregnancy or even in the birth for that matter.

God created mankind to conceive, carry and give birth to healthy children. This was His original plan. Then came the fall of Adam and Eve which opened the way for all forms of sickness to manifest in our lives. Miscarriage occurs due to a sickness, disease or complication in the mother or baby, not because of the "will" of God. Just because we live in a fallen world doesn't mean that God has changed. His Word and character always remain the same (Mal 3:6). He will NEVER "will" us to miscarry or to bear sick children.
神创造人类繁殖，生养健康的小孩。这是祂原有的计划。当阿当和夏娃堕落后就开启了疾病能进入我们生命。因妈妈或宝宝有病或并发症的流产是不是神的旨意。因为我们活在堕落的世界不代表神也改变了。因 我 耶 和 华 是 不 改 变 的 （玛3：6）祂不会“定意”让我们流产或怀生病的小孩。
We need to understand that we can't use our personal experiences to measure God's Word. We also shouldn't blame Him when we don't understand why a miscarriage occurred. The Bible tells us that God gives life not takes life. God is bound by His Word, He will not alter His promises.
我们得明白我们不能用个人的经验来测量神的话。当我们不明白为何会流产时我们不应该责怪神。圣经说神是赐生命不是取走生命。神为祂的话语负责，神不会改变祂的应许。
Numbers 23:19 says that "God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?"
民 数 记23：19神 非 人 ， 必 不 致 说 谎 ， 也 非 人 子 ， 必 不 致 后 悔 。祂 说 话 岂 不 照 着 行 呢 ？祂 发 言 岂 不 要 成 就 呢 ？
If we say that it was God's will that we miscarried, we are accusing him of killing our baby by withholding the healing blood of Jesus and by breaking the promises in His Word. There are many reasons for not receiving healing, and many circumstances that hinder us from receiving a miracle, but none are because God decided to break His Word. God is sovereign in that He can do what He wants to do when He wants to do it, but He has made a choice to bind Himself by His Word. In other words He is sovereign only outside the bounds of His Word because within His Word He is bound.

God doesn't expect you to battle on your own. There are times when we all feel spiritually, physically and emotionally weak and we need the support of others to help us through. On many occasions Julie and I have been able to intercede for couples threatened with miscarriage. We carried them in prayer until they felt strong enough to stand for themselves. If you can find someone who will stand and agree with you in prayer during your pregnancy, they will be able to intercede for you if you are threatened with miscarriage.

We have ministered to several women who were threatened with miscarriage and losing their baby seemed inevitable. Some were even told by medical professionals there was nothing they could do, there was no hope. God provided a miracle for many of these women and they now have healthy children. One of these women was threatened with miscarriage three times within the first five months of her pregnancy. During the second time, her doctor had given her a sixty percent chance of losing the baby. By the third time she had built up her faith and she knew in her heart her baby was safe. She had spent time in prayer and even though she only had a forty percent chance of keeping her baby, God overcame those odds and intervened. She now has a beautiful little girl.

Another testimony is from a woman who is a non-Christian. She had already experienced three miscarriages. We shared with her the power of prayer and gave her the Scripture; Exodus23:25-26. She had been trying for some time to conceive and the month she claimed this Scripture, she conceived. However, a few weeks into the pregnancy, the familiar period-like cramping and bleeding, another miscarriage, had begun. This time she turned to God. She told us she reminded God His Word was true and then confessed "NO, I AM NOT GOING TO MISCARRY!" She spent the next half hour in prayer quoting this verse and all the cramping and bleeding stopped. Talk about blind faith! If a non-Christian can grasp the Word of God and receive a miracle, then how much more can we as believers! She told us she knew this happened because of prayer and the power of God. This miracle was also accredited to her giving God the glory for her pregnancy and acknowledging He was the creator thus giving Him control over her circumstances. This woman had no knowledge on the power of prayer or how to pray. All she did was cry out to God with faith, stood on His Word and He answered her. It is important to note that the first part of this Scripture reads, "You shall worship the Lord your God....". Anyone can turn to God and He will heal them but they also need to have a relationship with Him. Therefore, when a non-Christian experiences the healing power of God it doesn’t bring full glory to Him unless they then meet their healer!

Now all of these women we have shared with you could have accepted the natural course of events but they fought back and did not lose their babies. It was not God's "will" for them to lose their children. There was a complication, they prayed and God healed them. Why some women still miscarry we will never know. What we do know is that God is able to heal miscarriage regardless of the circumstances.

What To Do In The Event Of A Threatened Miscarriage

Our God is a healing God and is able to heal miscarriage. We have witnessed this many times even when all odds were stacked against the survival of the baby. If symptoms of miscarriage begin it’s not over yet! You don't have to accept it and wait for the natural course of events to take place. In these times you need to make the decision to rise up in your spirit and stand on God's Word, fight for healing and claim what belongs to you. Sometimes that's easy and other times it's a battle. Instead of dwelling on why this happens focus on changing your circumstances by turning to God and His healing power. An impossible situation for you is simply an opportunity for God!!
我们的神是可以医治流产的神。我们已经见证过无数次当胎儿存活率不高。如果流产现象开始不代表结束了！你可不用接受它等待自然律发生。这时候你要决定你的灵起来抓住神的话语上，为得着医治争战和断定已经属于你的东西。有时简单，有时是场打仗。与其在想为何会发生倒不如转向神和祂医治的能力来改变你的情况。在你不可能的情况只是神的一个机会！！
Job 22:27-28 You will pray to Him, and He will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways.

It's always important to pray for wisdom in these situations. Depending on the severity of the bleeding and cramping you may need to go to the hospital and request an ultrasound scan to make sure that your baby is still alive. If your baby has died a miscarriage will be inevitable – short of a miracle!
祷告在任何情况有智慧是重要的。依照流血和疼痛的程度推算是否要去医院照超音波扫描检查胎儿是否存活。如果胎儿死亡，流产是必然的- 也算是神迹！
While the cause and symptoms of miscarriage are physical, any fear or oppression is spiritual. You have NOT been given a spirit of fear but one of power, a sound mind and self-control (2 Tim 1:7). Fear will need to be the first thing that you overcome. Fear disables faith, which will hinder your ability to pray effectively. Remember not to go by feelings. I know from my own experiences that at times I have felt like its too hard to rise up and fight. I have felt spiritually, physically and emotionally weak. If this is what you feel then remember that you are more than a conqueror (Rom 8:37), and greater is Jesus who is in you than our enemy who is in the world (1 John 4:4). And finally that you can do all things because of the strength of Christ (Phil 4:13). You need to press through and choose to believe what God says regardless of how you feel at that time.

In the event of a threatened miscarriage your circumstances might look disheartening, but keep praying and believing Him for your miracle for NOTHING is impossible for Him!! With each of these steps use Scripture to back up your prayers (most of which are found in this book). You can also use this in any crisis situation during your pregnancy, labor and delivery.

Is it God's will for us to Miscarry?

Exo 23:25-26 Worship the LORD your God, and His blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.

Just because we are Christians doesn't mean we are automatically protected from miscarriage. We live in a fallen world so miscarriage, sickness, disease or any other complications can happen to any one of us. However, the good news is that we can receive a different outcome. Isaiah 53:4-5 tells us that Jesus has paid the price for ALL sickness and disease therefore He has paid the price for miscarriage.

We need to apply God's Word to our life by faith because it will not manifest on its own. First we need to receive a personal revelation so we have that deep knowing in our spirit that it is not God's will for us to miscarry. Faith must be on the Word of God not on feelings or man's words. Faith is important, because it builds us up in our spirit and helps us to focus on God rather than our circumstances. We all have a measure of faith (Rom 12:3).and when we use it, it becomes stronger. God tells us to pay attention and listen closely to His Word and not let it out of our sight. We need to guard and keep it in our heart because when we do something supernatural happens. The Word becomes life when we receive revelation and brings healing to our flesh (Prov 4:20-22). God's Word is medicine to our soul. It is the cure or remedy we need for it has the power to bring healing to the whole person; spirit, soul and body.

Once we receive personal revelation we need to continue to claim God's Word over our lives. God watches to see that His Word is fulfilled (Jer 1:12) for it will not return to Him empty, but will accomplish what He desires and it will achieve the purpose for which He sent it (Isaiah 55:11).God's Word returns to Him when we speak it out of our mouths by claiming it over our lives. His Word is not merely empty words rather promises that contain the capacity to change our circumstances.

Even though many know what God's Word says about miscarriage they still feel that in certain situations it is His will for some to miscarry. James 1:17 says, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows". Only good gifts come from God and miscarriage for any reason is not a good gift. God doesn't bless us with children only to take them away from us. Whenever the Bible mentions children it says that they are a gift and a reward from God (Psa 127:3). Not once does it mention that we are to dread or be fearful of them in any way. God doesn’t want us to be in fear during the pregnancy or even in the birth for that matter.

God created mankind to conceive, carry and give birth to healthy children. This was His original plan. Then came the fall of Adam and Eve which opened the way for all forms of sickness to manifest in our lives. Miscarriage occurs due to a sickness, disease or complication in the mother or baby, not because of the "will" of God. Just because we live in a fallen world doesn't mean that God has changed. His Word and character always remain the same (Mal 3:6). He will NEVER "will" us to miscarry or to bear sick children.
神创造人类繁殖，生养健康的小孩。这是祂原有的计划。当阿当和夏娃堕落后就开启了疾病能进入我们生命。因妈妈或宝宝有病或并发症的流产是不是神的旨意。因为我们活在堕落的世界不代表神也改变了。因 我 耶 和 华 是 不 改 变 的 （玛3：6）祂不会“定意”让我们流产或怀生病的小孩。
We need to understand that we can't use our personal experiences to measure God's Word. We also shouldn't blame Him when we don't understand why a miscarriage occurred. The Bible tells us that God gives life not takes life. God is bound by His Word, He will not alter His promises.
我们得明白我们不能用个人的经验来测量神的话。当我们不明白为何会流产时我们不应该责怪神。圣经说神是赐生命不是取走生命。神为祂的话语负责，神不会改变祂的应许。
Numbers 23:19 says that "God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?"
民 数 记23：19神 非 人 ， 必 不 致 说 谎 ， 也 非 人 子 ， 必 不 致 后 悔 。祂 说 话 岂 不 照 着 行 呢 ？祂 发 言 岂 不 要 成 就 呢 ？
If we say that it was God's will that we miscarried, we are accusing him of killing our baby by withholding the healing blood of Jesus and by breaking the promises in His Word. There are many reasons for not receiving healing, and many circumstances that hinder us from receiving a miracle, but none are because God decided to break His Word. God is sovereign in that He can do what He wants to do when He wants to do it, but He has made a choice to bind Himself by His Word. In other words He is sovereign only outside the bounds of His Word because within His Word He is bound.

God doesn't expect you to battle on your own. There are times when we all feel spiritually, physically and emotionally weak and we need the support of others to help us through. On many occasions Julie and I have been able to intercede for couples threatened with miscarriage. We carried them in prayer until they felt strong enough to stand for themselves. If you can find someone who will stand and agree with you in prayer during your pregnancy, they will be able to intercede for you if you are threatened with miscarriage.

We have ministered to several women who were threatened with miscarriage and losing their baby seemed inevitable. Some were even told by medical professionals there was nothing they could do, there was no hope. God provided a miracle for many of these women and they now have healthy children. One of these women was threatened with miscarriage three times within the first five months of her pregnancy. During the second time, her doctor had given her a sixty percent chance of losing the baby. By the third time she had built up her faith and she knew in her heart her baby was safe. She had spent time in prayer and even though she only had a forty percent chance of keeping her baby, God overcame those odds and intervened. She now has a beautiful little girl.

When Julie and I pray over pregnant women we pray for a hedge of protection around their womb and we plead the blood of Jesus over their body and their baby. I don't want these prayer points to sound like a "method" for protection from miscarriage because God's Word is enough. However, some women have trouble in certain areas and praying for specifics is necessary. Ask the Holy Spirit to highlight what needs to be covered in your pregnancy. He will teach you how to pray effectively.

Another testimony is from a woman who is a non-Christian. She had already experienced three miscarriages. We shared with her the power of prayer and gave her the Scripture; Exodus23:25-26. She had been trying for some time to conceive and the month she claimed this Scripture, she conceived. However, a few weeks into the pregnancy, the familiar period-like cramping and bleeding, another miscarriage, had begun. This time she turned to God. She told us she reminded God His Word was true and then confessed "NO, I AM NOT GOING TO MISCARRY!" She spent the next half hour in prayer quoting this verse and all the cramping and bleeding stopped. Talk about blind faith! If a non-Christian can grasp the Word of God and receive a miracle, then how much more can we as believers! She told us she knew this happened because of prayer and the power of God. This miracle was also accredited to her giving God the glory for her pregnancy and acknowledging He was the creator thus giving Him control over her circumstances. This woman had no knowledge on the power of prayer or how to pray. All she did was cry out to God with faith, stood on His Word and He answered her. It is important to note that the first part of this Scripture reads, "You shall worship the Lord your God....". Anyone can turn to God and He will heal them but they also need to have a relationship with Him. Therefore, when a non-Christian experiences the healing power of God it doesn’t bring full glory to Him unless they then meet their healer!
另外一个见证是一位未信主的姐妹。她曾经有三次的流产经历。我们与她分享祷告的能力和给她经文；出23:25-26 她尝试要怀孕一段时间，她抓住经文的那个月她怀孕了。可是几个星期后她熟悉的经痛和出血，意味着要流产。这次她转向神。她告诉我们她记得神的话语是真的就宣告“不，我不会流产！”她花半个小时用那经文祷告，经痛和血竟止住。这只是盲目相信！如果未信主的姐妹可以用神的话语来领受神迹，那身为信徒的我们可以得更多！她说她知道会发生是因为祷告和神的能力。这神迹让神从她怀孕得荣耀和证明神是创造主也掌管她的一切。这姐妹不晓得祷告的能力或如何祷告。她只是用信心哭求神，抓住神的话语上而神也垂听。经文的前段很重要，“你要敬拜/事奉主你的神。。”谁转向神，神就会医治可是他们要与神有关系。所以，当一位未信主姐妹经历神医治的能力不能给神最大的荣耀除非他们之后遇见他们的医治者。
Now all of these women we have shared with you could have accepted the natural course of events but they fought back and did not lose their babies. It was not God's "will" for them to lose their children. There was a complication, they prayed and God healed them. Why some women still miscarry we will never know. What we do know is that God is able to heal miscarriage regardless of the circumstances.
这些提到的女性原本可以接受自然律但她们争战不想失去胎儿。失去孩子并不是神的旨意。有并发症，她们祷告然后神就医治她们。为何还有女性会流产我们永远不晓得原因。但我们只知道神可以医治任何情况的流产。
What To Do In The Event Of A Threatened Miscarriage
当有流产的威胁时要怎么办？
Our God is a healing God and is able to heal miscarriage. We have witnessed this many times even when all odds were stacked against the survival of the baby. If symptoms of miscarriage begin it’s not over yet! You don't have to accept it and wait for the natural course of events to take place. In these times you need to make the decision to rise up in your spirit and stand on God's Word, fight for healing and claim what belongs to you. Sometimes that's easy and other times it's a battle. Instead of dwelling on why this happens focus on changing your circumstances by turning to God and His healing power. An impossible situation for you is simply an opportunity for God!!
我们的神是可以医治流产的神。我们已经见证过无数次当胎儿存活率不高。如果流产现象开始不代表结束了！你可不用接受它等待自然律发生。这时候你要决定你的灵起来抓住神的话语上，为得着医治争战和断定已经属于你的东西。有时简单，有时是场打仗。与其在想为何会发生倒不如转向神和祂医治的能力来改变你的情况。在你不可能的情况只是神的一个机会！！
Job 22:27-28 You will pray to Him, and He will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways.

It's always important to pray for wisdom in these situations. Depending on the severity of the bleeding and cramping you may need to go to the hospital and request an ultrasound scan to make sure that your baby is still alive. If your baby has died a miscarriage will be inevitable – short of a miracle!
祷告在任何情况有智慧是重要的。依照流血和疼痛的程度推算是否要去医院照超音波扫描检查胎儿是否存活。如果胎儿死亡，流产是必然的- 也算是神迹！
While the cause and symptoms of miscarriage are physical, any fear or oppression is spiritual. You have NOT been given a spirit of fear but one of power, a sound mind and self-control (2 Tim 1:7). Fear will need to be the first thing that you overcome. Fear disables faith, which will hinder your ability to pray effectively. Remember not to go by feelings. I know from my own experiences that at times I have felt like its too hard to rise up and fight. I have felt spiritually, physically and emotionally weak. If this is what you feel then remember that you are more than a conqueror (Rom 8:37), and greater is Jesus who is in you than our enemy who is in the world (1 John 4:4). And finally that you can do all things because of the strength of Christ (Phil 4:13). You need to press through and choose to believe what God says regardless of how you feel at that time.

In the event of a threatened miscarriage your circumstances might look disheartening, but keep praying and believing Him for your miracle for NOTHING is impossible for Him!! With each of these steps use Scripture to back up your prayers (most of which are found in this book). You can also use this in any crisis situation during your pregnancy, labor and delivery.
